Classic Home Video Games, 1985-1988
Written by ColecoVisionist // Saturday, 06 February 2010

CHVG85-88_

A follow up to 2007's Classic Home Video Games, 1972-1984, Classic Home Video Games, 1985-1988 by Brett Weiss provides detailed descriptions and reviews of every U.S.-released game for the Nintendo NES, the Atari 7800, and the Sega Master System. Organized alphabetically by console brand, each chapter includes a description of the game system followed by substantive entries for every game released for that console. Video game entries include publisher/developer data, release year, gameplay information, and, typically, the author's critique. A glossary provides a helpful guide to the classic video game genres and terms referenced throughout the work, and a preface provides a comparison between the modern gaming industry and the industry of the late 1980s. Includes foreword by Electronic Games magazine co-founder Bill Kunkel.

New pinball backglass using uv ink
Written by John Greatwich // Wednesday, 03 February 2010

tpflogo_2010_topart

Testing has proved that it is possible to print uv ink direct to tempered glass in one pass for color. Then the glass is then taken to another screen shop to get 3 individual hits of uv ink white & 1 blocking layer in black (has all the tilt, game over, shoot again, high score, etc.) Currently working on a license agreement with Illinois Pin Ball & talking with other major sources of art for pinball. Many different glass titles from many different manufacturers if things work out. I will be giving a seminar at Texas Pinball Festival, & a number of free glass samples will be given away. http://www.texaspinball.com/seminars.htm

Agent X For Sale
Written by Arthur Annis // Friday, 22 January 2010

The movie prop from the 1984 movie, Cloak & Dagger has hit the market on e-bay and is commanding a high price. Here's what the seller has to say:

This is a fully working machine in amazing condition. Not only is it a one of a kind item in nice shape, but Atari only ever made 20 dedicated Cloak & Dagger machines. The rest were sold as kits to convert other games and only had mono sound. This machine has stereo sound. This machine is serial number UR00001.

Atari Sleep Shorts
Written by Kevin Steele // Tuesday, 19 January 2010

I had to share a cool find from the local Target -- they had Atari pajama pants and Atari sleep shorts on closeout.

Our news editor Mitch mentioned the Atari pajama pants in the latest issue of GameRoom, but this was the first I'd heard of the shorts. I got a the sleep shorts because they came in this awesome collector's tin.
